For the 1D3 team, Gamescom was a whirlwind of meetings, but let’s not lose sight of what really matters — the games! Today, we’re letting our inner nerds shine as we share a few words about the game announcements we’re most excited about from this year’s Gamescom.
Game announcements we liked at Gamescom 2024
🌍Civilization VII: Some of us have been hooked on the Civ series since Civ III, and the announcement of a new iteration is more than enough to get us excited. Will the new mechanics hit the mark, and will the community embrace them? We don’t know yet, but we’re definitely keeping a close eye on this one!
⚔️Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2: As one wise person described it, “40% sandbox, 40% medieval realism, and 20% O KURWA”—this is one game we’re definitely playing, no questions asked.
🔫Borderlands 4: The Borderlands series has had its ups and downs, but it remains the iconic, addictive looter-shooter we know and love. We believe it’s worth the wait.
🐈inZoi: An entirely different breed of game, but hey, The Sims was one of the most successfully monetized video game franchises of all time, so we’re excited to see such a great-looking competitor emerge in this niche.
And there you have it, folks—just a glimpse into the games that have us buzzing with excitement after this year’s Gamescom. Whether it’s exploring new worlds, delving into historical realism, or building our virtual lives from the ground up, there’s plenty to look forward to. As we await more updates and release dates, let’s keep our enthusiasm high and our gaming setups ready. Until next time, game on!
